My ten year old son asked to come home earlier than normal from school today. Why? Because, we had pre-ordered Windows 7 Home Premium, and with the knowledge that it was being released today, we might, however unlikely, take delivery today.
Well, our friends at Microsoft and UPS made sure to have it delivered to us on its launch day, and being the good father, I arranged to have my son brought home a bit earlier than usual today.
As a dad, I find it fascinating to watch my child as he develops his interests in particular areas, and observe how we are all ultimately unique as individuals. He was simply giddy with excitement upon learning that the product had arrived on the actual launch date.
Opening the packaging, he was impressed by “the awesome look of the CD” and kept talking about how we are about to install Windows 7 for the first time, and urging me to keep this blog post short, so that we can get to the business at hand of actually installing the software.
